Whilst my projects usually centre around children's visuals, I also enjoy surface design. Here are some of my repeated patterns, designed for cushions and phone cases. Above are designs I created on photoshop using textures from my own images. Each texture means something personal to me. Below is a repeated pattern screen print that I afterwards applied directly to plain cushion covers.

THE FESTIVAL OF QUILTS, NEC BIRMINGHAM 2018
My surface design work was part of a brief given to us by the Quilters Guild (based in York) when doing my undergrad course in Illustration. We were to create something for their stand at 'The Festival of Quilts 2018' at the NEC in Birmingham.

YSJ ILLUSTRATION EXHIBITION 2018
As this surface design project was in my second year at York St. John University, we curated a week-long Illustration show where I showcased my surface design work complete with cushions and a phone case. This exhibition was based at the University and was open to other students, tutors and the public.
